The Nigerian Natural Hair and Beauty Show

Hi Beauty Lovers,

Since going natural in 2010, I have to say the Natural Hair community in Nigeria has grown and advanced in Leaps. There are now more Natural Hair experts and Salons, Bloggers, and most importantly available hair products. As a Beauty blogger transitioning, I frequented the Kinky Apothecary website (then Blog) for tips and purchased hard to reach products on the site as well. It has been amazing to watch the growth of the Website, as well as the many strides its founder, Nibi Lawson, has made in the Natural Hair community in Nigeria.

One great stride was the First Ever Nigerian Natural Hair and Beauty Show that was held last Saturday May 16th at the Federal Palace Hotel in Lagos.

The event, a commemoration of the 5th anniversary of the Kinky Apothecary, showcased a panel of Natural hair experts and Celebrity stylists as well as Natural Hair product Entrepreneurs.

The event was Amazing! It was well planned and showcased a lot of great vendors in attendance. The experts from the UK/US did a good job of speaking to attendees and answering questions, especially Celebrity Stylists Felicia Leatherwood & Obia of Obia Naturals.

The hall was split in two, one side for the panels, and the other for the vendors, so people could either sit up front and listen while speeches were going on, or shop and mingle.
